Jackpocket is the first third-party lottery service to offer online casino games in New Jersey. According to a company press release, the new NJ online casino will launch this year, pending approval from the NJ Division of Gaming Enforcement.
It’s unclear precisely which casino games or how many will be available through the Jackpocket Casino app. But the app is launching in partnership with Caesars Interactive, so we can expect many of the Caesars Casino games to be available on Jackpot as well, including progressive jackpot slots and all the different blackjack variations.
Jackpocket is best known for its lottery app, which is active in ten states, including New Jersey. Separate from the upcoming casino app, the existing app allows users to purchase lottery tickets for in-state lottery games as well as a few multi-state lottery contests like Mega Millions and Powerball. Jackpocket Lottery is available for both iOS and Android devices, so it’s also expected that the new NJ online casino will be available on both devices as well.
The Jackpocket Lottery app is also available in Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, D.C., New Hampshire, New York, Oregon, Ohio, and Texas. None of those states offer legal online casinos, but Jackpot Casino may launch in Michigan or Pennsylvania’s online casino market in the future like it did in the NY sports betting market.
First Joint Venture by Jackpocket and Caesars Interactive
Jackpocket is the newest NJ online casino, and the first born from a partnership between Jackpocket and Caesars Interactive. Last November, Jackpocket raised a reported $120 million in Series D funding from several sources, including Mark Cuban, actress Whitney Cummings, comedian Kevin Hart, and baseball superstar Manny Machado.
The Jackpocket Casino app reflects the revenue opportunities for gaming companies from casino-style games. As more states legalize online casino games, the market is bound to grow. According to the state’s Casino Control Commission, New Jersey gathered more than $130 million from online casino activity in December of 2021, which added nearly $20 million to the state’s coffers.
According to its company website, Jackpocket is “certified by the National Council on Problem Gambling through its Internet Compliance Assessment Program (iCAP), the highest standard in the U.S. for online responsible gaming,” which illustrates a commitment to safety for consumers.
New Jersey Online Casino Apps
Once the Jackpocket Casino app goes live in New Jersey this year, it will join at least 20 online casino apps with similar offerings. Some examples include Golden Nugget Online, Tropicana Online, and Virgin Online Casino, which offer a nice selection of no deposit NJ bonuses.
