Pennsylvania iLottery players will soon be able to play a Monopoly Property Payout, the latest progressive jackpot eInstant title from Scientific Games. Monopoly Property Payout will launch later this year, but Scientific Games has not provided a specific release date. The public will get its first glimpse of the game at the North American Association of State & Provincial Lotteries 2023 Conference, which runs from October 30 to November 2 in Milwaukee.
Monopoly Property Payout joins over 150 eInstants in Scientific Games’ portfolio. Monopoly-branded games are among the most popular gambling products among both lottery and casino players. Progressive jackpots are likewise a big selling point because they can offer the chance to win sums of money rarely seen in games with fixed prizes.
Scientific Games says it is in the advanced stages of planning a second iLottery Monopoly game. The company added that there would be the potential to connect the two games with a linked progressive jackpot network, allowing the potential prizes to grow bigger still.
Monopoly Property Payout will be available to partner lotteries via the newly introduced SG Content Hub. In what the company describes as an industry-first, the SG Content Hub is both a content aggregator and a game content partnership network.
What We Know About Monopoly Property Payout
While more details will emerge after the game’s unveiling, Scientific Games says Monopoly Property Payout will have a three-dimensional layout and feature a new version of the connect-style iLottery game mechanic. Steve Hickson, VP of Digital Games for Scientific Games, said:
We’ve built a premium iLottery game showcasing the iconic elements of the Monopoly brand that players across the globe know and love. The simulated 3D game board offers an immersive Monopoly game play experience that stays true to the brand. Players can unlock multiple themed bonus rounds, such as Chance and Free Parking, along with special features where players have the chance to win cash prizes.
Are Progressive Jackpot eInstants The Future of iLottery?
Progressive jackpots are traditionally the domain of casino slots and big draw lotteries like Powerball. Logistically, variable prizes are hard to implement with physical scratch tickets, but digital technology has made it possible to offer progressive jackpots in instant online lottery games.
The Pennsylvania Lottery has embraced that possibility and now has 20 such games available. These include Jackpot Spectacular, the first connect-style eInstant to offer a multi-state progressive jackpot. Players in Pennsylvania and Virginia contribute to the same jackpot, which is currently closing in on $2 million.
Progressive jackpots are only that developers of eInstants are taking cues from video slots to remain competitive with regulated online casinos. For example, Instant Win Gaming (IWG) recently introduced Triple Eagle Bonus, which allows players to pick from one of three bonus rounds with different levels of volatility. That sort of interactivity isn’t possible with paper tickets.
Instant lotteries are growing in popularity. In many states, scratch-offs and their online counterparts now account for almost half of all lottery revenue. In Pennsylvania, they now account for over two-thirds of lottery sales.
