New Jersey Fanatics Casino Launched on May 8 in Its Fourth Online Casino State

Fanatics Casino launched in its fourth state on May 8. That means any New Jersey resident, including bettors using the PointsBet app, can download Fanatics Sportsbook and Casino and access the online casino through the sportsbook.

PointsBet players will find that their usernames, passwords, account balances, rewards points, and responsible gaming settings “will be automatically migrated” to the New Jersey Fanatics Sportsbook and Casino app, according to the announcement Fanatics Betting and Gaming (FBG) sent to Bonus on May 8.

Kevin Hennessy — vice president of communications at Fanatics — added a note for Bonus:

Today, we launch in New Jersey. And it’s our 20th state, our final PointsBet state, and our fourth online casino state.

What Hennessy means by “final PointsBet state” is sports merchandise etailer Fanatics bought the US businesses of Australian online gambling operator PointsBet Holdings Limited (PointsBet Holdings Limited 0,31 +1,50%) and has been migrating them to the FBG offering.

That’s why Fanatics Casino is already live in the following iGaming states:

  • Michigan
  • Pennsylvania
  • West Virginia

Fans of Fanatics Casino Arrive

In New Jersey, the regulator’s site hadn’t quite caught up to the change on May 8. The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) still listed PointsBet as the New Jersey online casino site on the Bally’s Atlantic City Casino Resort license.

However, clicking on the PointsBet link yields the Fanatics Sportsbook site.

Now, Fanatics Casino will compete with 29 other iGaming skins in a state where its predecessor accounted for a single-digit percentage of the marketplace’s revenue.

Considering Fanatics Sportsbook and Casino rose two spots during the time it took me to write this article, Garden Staters may be a bit excited about the new app. When I first observed the site’s listing in the App Store, I saw the app rank at No. 19 in the “sports” category. As of 4 p.m. on May 8, it was No. 17.

For context, the No. 1 app in the category is MLB Ballpark, a ticketing app that fans must show to a human to attend a game. (I’ve had to download the app and show my ticket at Citizens Bank Park to attend a Philadelphia Phillies game. The Phillies are losing to the Toronto Blue Jays right now. … Ope, the Phillies lost.)

In Google Play, Fanatics Sportsbook and Casino is listed as having been downloaded more than 100,000 times.

Fanatics Casino Has Bells, Whistles

New Jersey Fanatics Casino launched on May 8FBG Chief Product Officer Scot McClintic told Bonus on Dec. 13 that Fanatics Casino will eventually be a standalone app.

On May 8, the Fanatics announcement said:

The newly designed Fanatics Casino will feature a range of classic and popular casino favorites like roulette, slots, and blackjack.

The new app also offers new games to New Jerseyans.

Boom Entertainment also helped develop the app’s popular branded Fanatics Blackjack game.

Online casino bettors also tend to visit live dealer games, which Fanatics is offering through a partnership with Evolution (Evolution AB (publ) 4,77 -3,25%).

Human croupiers host Lightning Roulette, blackjack, roulette, craps, and baccarat. The live dealers also preside over variants of poker games.

In addition, the app includes online casino favorites like Evolution slots and the following:

  • IGT PlayDigital games: Cash Eruption, Fortune Coin, and Cleopatra; and MegaJackpots titles, proprietary table games, and video poker content.
  • Light and Wonder (LNW) “first-party” titles: 88 Fortunes, Jin Ji Bao, Endless Treasures, Dancing Drums Explosion, and Ultimate Fire Link China Street.
  • LNW (Light & Wonder Inc 94,74 +0,20%) “third-party aggregated content” from studios that include Big Time Gaming, Reel Play, and Hacksaw.
