What Hennessy means by “final PointsBet state” is sports merchandise etailer Fanatics bought the US businesses of Australian online gambling operator PointsBet Holdings Limited (PointsBet Holdings Limited 0,29 0,00%) and has been migrating them to the FBG offering.

In New Jersey, the regulator’s site hadn’t quite caught up to the change on May 8. The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) still listed PointsBet as the New Jersey online casino site on the Bally’s Atlantic City Casino Resort license.
However, clicking on the PointsBet link yields the Fanatics Sportsbook site.
Now, Fanatics Casino will compete with 29 other iGaming skins in a state where its predecessor accounted for a single-digit percentage of the marketplace’s revenue.
Considering Fanatics Sportsbook and Casino rose two spots during the time it took me to write this article, Garden Staters may be a bit excited about the new app. When I first observed the site’s listing in the App Store, I saw the app rank at No. 19 in the “sports” category. As of 4 p.m. on May 8, it was No. 17.
For context, the No. 1 app in the category is MLB Ballpark, a ticketing app that fans must show to a human to attend a game. FBG Chief Product Officer Scot McClintic told Bonus on Dec. 13 that Fanatics Casino will eventually be a standalone app.
On May 8, the Fanatics announcement said:
The newly designed Fanatics Casino will feature a range of classic and popular casino favorites like roulette, slots, and blackjack.
The new app also offers new games to New Jerseyans.
