Despite being the most popular sportsbook in the United Kingdom, bet365 had only a small US presence until late 2022. For its first three years stateside, it operated only in New Jersey. However, it had a flurry of new sportsbook launches in 2023.

That marked a shift in strategic gears for the company, which saw its New Jersey sports betting market share expand rapidly in early 2024. Even so, it remains a bit player in the online casino vertical.

Sadly for investors, it’s one of the few gambling giants that doesn’t trade on public exchanges. It has been a private company since its inception, with its founder, British billionaire Denise Coates, still the majority shareholder.
